The Department of Industrial Engineering at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia is pleased to announce the 5th International Conference on Production Research, ICPR – Americas 2010. The theme of the conference is "Technologies in Logistics and Manufacturing for Small and Medium Enterprises". ICPR is endorsed by the International Foundation for Production Research (IFPR), the founding body of the International Journal of Production Research.
The conference will feature leading researchers and practitioners that integrate areas of production, logistics and manufacturing and will provide networking opportunities with colleagues throughout Latin America. The conference also includes workshops designed for active professionals in the areas of project/ operations management, industrial production engineering, economics and business administration.
The main theme of the conference "Technologies in Logistics and Manufacturing for Small and Medium Enterprises" is perfectly aligned with the realities of the Latin–American countries. One of the goals of the conference is to create awareness on the needs of small and medium companies to be competitive in a global world.
The Conference venue will be in the new Mario Laserna building at the Universidad de los Andes. The Department of Industrial Engineering is recognized as a leader in industrial and production engineering in Latin America.
